Registration & Airline Code Decoder
What this actually decodes
This tool reads identity, not position. A registration's country and an airline's name and callsign are fixed facts, baked into the code itself, so they can be looked up instantly with no network call. That's genuinely useful: it's how a controller, a plane-spotter, or anyone glancing up can tell a lot about an aircraft from a few painted letters.
What it can't do is tell you where a specific flight is right now, where it's headed, or whether it's on time. That needs live flight data from an actual tracking feed, which is a different tool entirely. Paste a full flight number like AF1680 and you'll get the airline, Air France, decoded correctly. You won't get a route, because this page never claims to know one.
Registration prefixes come from the ICAO nationality mark allocations, covering the major and mid-size aviation nations. Airline codes cover a solid set of major and mid-size carriers, not the full global registry. Read more on how registrations work and why airlines have callsigns.
